What is Simple DIY Dry Shampoo?

Dry shampoo is a type of hair product that is made to to reduce oil and grime in your hair. Unlike wet shampoos and conditioners, dry shampoo is ment to be applied to your hair while it’s dry.  tDry shampoo is ypically applied to the crown of your head and areas where oil and shine may visibly collect.  This DIY Dry shampoo utilizes the absorbing power of cornstarch and the natural color of cocoa.  If you like to have some fragrance in your dry shampoo, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the mix.

Only 2 Ingredients (3 if you want scent)

  1. Cornstarch: I went with organic cornstarch for this recipe.  Regular works just fine! Organic Cornstarch
  2. Cocoa Powder: Any brand will do.  The cocoa powder gives a natural tint that helps hide that “powdery-white” look dry shapmoo can leave on your hair.  Cocoa Powder
  3. Optional Essential Oil: Your scent of choice.  Popular choices are lavender, mint, May Chang (citrus).  You have a favorite?  Give it a try!
